Community choir
Thanks to the generosity of the Order of St. Johns and the support and funding by the Paul Sugar Palliative Support Foundation, the Camp Kerry Society is pleased to announce the launch of a new Community Choir!
Everyone is welcome to join the Camp Kerry Society Community Choir regardless of age and/or ability. This program provides an opportunity to gather with one another to create beauty and a wonderful sense of community through singing, making connections, and more.
The Camp Kerry Community Choir is being led by Aspen Switzer, a member of the Camp Kerry Team and a new Music Therapy graduate who in her former life was the passionate director of community choirs and small vocal ensembles. Now with her music therapy training she draws from both to create a safe and joyous place for people from all walks of life and singing abilities to connect and to sing. The material will depend largely on who shows up and what the needs and desires of the group are. Whether we sing a popular hit that the youngsters bring to us in three-part harmony, a more traditional choral arrangement or anything in between, this will be a safe, fun and rewarding experience for all.
Sessions for the fall season will be offered weekly on Tuesdays and commence on October 20, 2015 from 7 PM – 8:30 PM. They are currently being offered at the Palliative Support Centre, which is located at 3743 Delbrook Avenue, North Vancouver. Further information will be provided upon completion of registration.
