Heather Elizabeth Matheson-Leyland (April 8, 1949 - April 6, 2014)
Heather passed away peacefully on April 6, 2014, after a long battle with Melanoma.
She was born on April 8, 1949 in Southampton, ON. Predeceased by her mother, Dorothy.
Heather will be deeply missed by her father George, her loving husband John, brother Ian (Tannis), her daughter Mackenzie, stepdaughters Jennette and Cynthia (Andre), and her granddaughter Ella. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephew, her extended family and her many loyal friends.
Heather was an award winning Journalist and Producer, and spent most of her career with the CBC in Toronto, Montreal, and finally in Vancouver. Heather adored the Arts. She enjoyed going to movies, she was a veracious reader, and she loved to sing with her choir Espiritu.
A service will be held to honour and remember Heather on April 12, 2014 at 1:30 pm at the West Vancouver Baptist Church, 450 Mathers Avenue, West Vancouver.
