In memory of Peter Brian Young
Peter Brian Young
November 2, 1967 - November 13, 2017
Captain Peter Brian Young, November 2, 1967 to November 13, 2017.
Our beloved Pete is finally at peace after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife Monique, son Jack, brother Mike (Margo), sister Lynda, father Don (Anne), nieces Beth and Allie and many friends and family.
Captain Pete worked at Seaspan for 25 years where he made friendships that lasted him a lifetime. At 18:00 on the day of his passing, the Vancouver Harbour was alive with the sound of ship whistles in loving memory of Pete and ships neat and far flew their flags at half mast.
Our family is deeply grateful for all the health care providers who cared for Pete during his 10 year journey with cancer. The compassion and care they showed Pete and our family was truly remarkable.
A celebration of Pete's life will be held on Sunday November 26 at 14:00 at the Maritime Labour Centre (1880 Triumph Street, Vancouver).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Shore Hospice or the Paul Sugar Palliative Foundation.
