In memory of Sheny Dhanji
Sheny Dhanji (nee Hirji)
Dec 26, 1958 - Sept 29, 2012
We are deeply saddened to report that our dear Sheny Dhanji passed away on September 29th, 2012, despite a heroic ongoing battle with her health.
Sheny has been part of the Lloyds Travel team since 2006. She took control of the Club Med sales and quickly grew the business, doubling the sales and revenue in three years. Sheny loved her job immensely as a Club Med Specialist. Her exceptional sales record and dedication to her clients ultimately resulted in earning her the best agent in North America award in 2009.
Sheny’s health struggles began in 2003, when she was diagnosed with a rare condition that resulted in a benign brain tumor. This was successfully treated through surgery. Towards the end of 2009, she was once again diagnosed with brain and spinal tumors, which were initially treated with surgery. In 2010, the tumors returned and there were limited treatment options due to the rarity of the condition. Despite this, Sheny persisted and courageously explored various treatment plans. During this time, her work was her salvation, it allowed her to get out of the house and look after her clients, which is what she loved. Her perseverance initially paid off, but in August of 2012 her health took a turn for the worse and caused her to be hospitalized. On September 29, 2012, Sheny succumbed to her condition and passed away peacefully.
Sheny is survived by her husband and 3 wonderful children. Nafeesa, the eldest, is 23 and enrolled in her final year at UBC Sauder School of Business. Nabila is 21 and is attending the University of Western Ontario, Richard Ivey School of Business. Armaan is 18 and is enrolled in computer sciences at UBC. Her children are all wonderful citizens with a zest for life and their community. Sheny was extremely proud of her children and their accomplishments.
Throughout her life, Sheny inspired many people. Her clients sent in remarkable letters of support along with amazing testimonials. During her time at GF Strong, a rehabilitation house for the critically ill, she inspired an entire floor of patients, both young and old. Here at Lloyds Travel she inspired and motivated all of us. Watching Sheny set the example, and we all became better people.
Sheny was lovely, intelligent, kind and she will be missed by everyone that knew her.
